Eithe way when you tighten the lugs down it will chip the paint or PC off the rim.. My PC came off the first time I mounted them up after being coated..

I spray painted mine and have had no trouble out of them. I've been on 3 or 4 rides since I painted them and they are holding up very well. All I do is wash them like the rest of the quad. I did a thin coat of primer, 2 coats paint, then good heavy coat of clear.

Still have to do some touch ups around the edges where I let the tape stay on to long but otherwise they look good.

Just make sure you get ALL dirt/greese/solvent off your rims before you paint them..

Then get some nice metal primer, do a coat or 2 of that, then paint 2 coats or 3, then clear coat the hell outa them.. The more clear coat, the more resistant to wear they'l be..

And advice on clear coating, put it on thick, almost too thick, put it on so it kinda turns white, cause once it drys its a really thick layer of clear.. If you just do small coats with clear coat, it wont really work at all =\

I'm using "rock paint" on mine, then i might put some reg. paint over it, the rock paint is kind of "rubberized" and doesnt chip, its what they use of trailers and rockerpanels and stuff.

Also, a word of advice, if your using a rattlecan dont put on to much clear, if you put on to much it will chip and flake REALLLY easy, rattle can paint sucks and when it gets thick it chips ;)

You should be fine like they said just use a good clear and lay it to it. I have a friend that paints cars and he is gonna hook me up with some good automotive clearcoat. The only prob is that you will have to spray it with a gun. They are pretty cheap and can hook up to your air compressor.
