Long travel gives a little softer ride, also a slight amount more travel, but mostly more adjustability.
Best deal? I'd say Viper (LegacyATV). The standard travel a-arms are 450-500 dollars.

i'm kinda in a bad spot. I bought a set of works triple rate shocks with res about a month ago. If i change the a arms i will have to get a different set of shocks wont i.

I,m running stock a arms now
if you stay with standard travel a-arms you wont need to get new shocks, but if you go long travel you will need to buy different shocks
what kind of riding do you do?

I was hoping to get into mx.
lol whoops maybe i should have read the first post :p
anyways if you have enough money it would be best to go with long travel a-arms and shocks, but if you are just a novice or dont take riding real seriously then you will be fine with the standard travels for a while.
it would be best if you sold the works shocks and got a decent set of suspension. all of the brands are good, Elka will deliver the quickest (in a week or so) and their products are top notch. TCS is also on the cheaper side but you may have to wait a little bit longer.

I run +2 Lonestars now, but if I can muster up the cash I have always been a fan of Houser products. Good quality and good price.:)

I think if money was no object, Walsh is tough to beat... maybe Laeger, Roll Design, or the new Axis arms... and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone in that list..
