try going out farther on the fuel skrew or a larger pilot jet.

SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE RICH ENOUGH YOU MAY NEED TO CHECK FOR AN EXAUST LEAK. POSSIBLY BETWEEN THE PIPE AND HEADER OR MAYBE AGAINST THE HEAD.

i don't know. i have a feeling he won't be rich enough on the pilot/fuel skrew. he is using a stock pilot jet on his built motor and the stock location of the fuel skrew is 2.25 turns out. he is at 2.5, which isn't much of a difference. he maybe fine, but i wouldn't take a chance of it running lean.

however, you may just have an exhaust leak like you mentioned. you might also want to make sure you don't have an air leak where the carb mounts to both air boots or where the air boot mounts to the head.
