View Full Version : 165 main and still popping what should i do?

I have a 2002 416ex with a white bros slip on with 12 disc and it popps on deceleration(sp) and i have it at 2.5 on the feul to air should i go to 3 turns or 3.5 or do i need to up to a 170?:)

What size pilot jet do you have? I think that 170 would me to rich.

popping on decel is not a mainjet problem, it is either the air screw or pilot jet. ajust the air screw to 3 1/2, if that dosnt work put a bigger pilot in;) .-darren

I would check for an exhaust leak. Around the slip-on connection, or look for cracks in the pipe, at the tailpipe where it meets the base of the silencer, or at the bracket that is welded to the tailpipe, that mounts to your subframe. Mine is notorious for this.

Did you just install the 416? Has it ever ran right? What size pilot are you running?
deceleration means you are off the gas and the carb is in (low rpm mode ) it is def. the pilot jet. good luck!;)

what clip position is it on?
