Going to pick up my 450R today.

Should I go ahead with the HRC kit?

Congrats thats awesome. I don't have an hrc kit on mine so i can't answer that question. I have an lrd full exhaust system on mine im going to buy the hrc cam definetly some time soon.

I was thinking about skipping the kit and going with a pipe, 13.5 piston and HRC cam at the same time. I'll probably hold off on the kit because I'd rather have a better exhaust.

Exactly! Most people have an hmf and a sparks im the only one i know with an LRD. Which exhaust are you looking to get and are you looking for a full or just a slip on!

YOU MIGHT AS WELL GET THE KIT CAUSE I WAS GOING TO DO THE SAME THING BUT THE CAM IS 215.00...BY ITS SELF. THE WHOLE KIT FROM SERVICE HONDA IS 252.00. ITS WORTH THE 37 EXTRA DOLLARS TILL YA GET THYE PIPE. IMO

I would get a pipe first if I had to do again!

I put HRC kit and Sparks exhaust on at same time. BIG difference. Later, I added sparks air filter and 190 main and removed air box lid. Jetting is right on. HRC kit is good due to you get cam, air box lid (keep factory lid for when washing bike) correct needle and jet and end cap and crankcase breather tube and air inlet tube. You'll be happy you did.:D :D :D

I got my HRC kit when i got my 4wheeler. That way they can just add the HRC kit to the total, and only have to pay maybe 8 dollars more a month on the loan. Then you can have some extra money when buying an exhaust. But if your paying cash for it, no loan, then this probably doesnt help you.
