Air Box Vent Locations?

I will shortly be cutting some vent holes in my airbox. My question is does placement of vents make a difference in how much air is taken in?

I have attached an image of what I was thinking of doing.
I will be hot glueing outerwear material on the backside of the vent holes.

Just don't place them over the air filter because water may land on it. Watch the hot glue it could block the air flow in the foam.

thats about as safe as you can get....unless you NEVER ride in water......the slightest drop of water will kill your ride.....

those outerwears and filter insert don't do squat for stopping water......
