Ok heres what i have. 03 400ex pro circuit t-4 slip on, jetted, k&n, sparks advance key, and a 14th front sprocket.

I'm running kenda klaw xcr's on the rear. i was drag racing my buddy on a bone stock 400ex with stock tires that have only about 20% tread left. Well i can't get off the line. Just spins to bad. The tires can be run with the tread going either way but it makes no difference. I've heard nothing but good about them but why can't i hook up?

Try taking off a gear higher or gear it higher.

are you just pinning it and dumping the clutch? :( that will spin on any surface

The first thing I would do is swap rear tires with his... if he starts spinning them, its the tires. If he still takes you with little or no tire spin then its in your setup/bike/you. Are you 2 of equal weight or ??. Try lowering the tire pressure, use a higher gear, fade the clutch... could be anything.

The surface we are on is just a little loose. Not bad. I'm not just dumping it. I've tried feathering it off the line, sitting on the back of the seat. it don't even try to lift up. I'll try starting in 2nd gear next this weekend. But i don't know how that will do.

the tires will ALWAYS spin off the line in 1st, especialy with a 14T up front.
