my friend is selling his Z400 with everything done to it besides motor. i told him id buy for it 6000 cash at the end of summer if hes still got it. but what im trying to say is, if i put a 450 kit in the Z, port and polish and everything i could do to the motor, would it be the same if not better than the YFZ motor?

Doug Gust has proven a Z450 can keep up with a yfz (or 20). If you do the motor right and you can ride then it shouldn't be a prob. $6,000 sounds like alot though, list the mods...

o yeah, go for the Z on that one, but i'd only pay around 5500 at the most for it, i mean, no matter what when you build a quad like that, he's gonna lose money.

I have a Z440 and wouldnt trade for a YFZ unless it had the same stuff on it as mine. You arent a pro so it really wont matter which you go with. Both are good choices, but I say go for the Z.

I would say go with the z and make it a 450:D

Put it this way, if you pay 6k for it and get the Yoshi 450 kit (2 K) you will have a race ready, bad arse quad for 8 grand. That is a good deal. The only downside is that you never know how long a built up motor like that is going to last. But, you couldn't get a YFZ or a TRX450r race ready for 8 grand.

You also have to remember how many guys are still breaking the Z frames.

Good point. But, if you plan on racing, you should gusset any production framed quad, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, etc.
