I have a hole in the sidewall of a Razr2. It is too large for just a plug. Should I plug it and then use a tube, or patch it from the inside and then tube? If patching, what is a good process for applying the patch? I have a patch that has adhesive on one side, I guess the tire needs to be scuffed with very coarse sandpaper, cleaned with alcohol?..apply heat?? stick on patch? apply more heat? how long to wait? then put the tube in? Is the tube definately needed? or will the patch make that area as strong as it was? thanks

If you have to you can use more than one plug, it looks like chit but it works.

i always just take mine to the tire shop... for 5$ they put a patch on the outside and inside... my one front tire had the patches on for 2 years with no leaks!!! the gash was probably 2 inches long...

i think the name for them is a vulcan patch...
