400ex timing key in a 250r

Im running a cr250 dirtbike ignition in my trx250r and cant seem to find a way to advance the timing like you can with the stock ignition. No one makes an adjustable plate for this ignition setup. I know for a fact that the flywheel keys from a 400ex and 250r are interchangeble because I had to rob one from my brothers 400ex already. Wouldnt this mean that I could run curtis sparks timing advance key? 6 degrees of advance is about what the adjustable stator plates give you for the R's anyway. If anyone has tried this let me know. Also if anyone thinks this would be a bad idea let me know that as well before I screw something up. My setup is .080 over with +4mm stroke & drag race porting.

I dont know much about ignitions but ftz racing might have what you are looking for if you have a little cash to spend. Check it out they are awsome for trx250r drag racing and high performance engine parts.
