im building a ramp for quads the same design as on fmxschool.com and its going to be wood. 8 feet tall, 8feet wide, 22 feet long and was wondering if it would be stronger if i built two rampsthat were 4 feet wide and put them together or would it be stronger to build one big one. cause i thought if it was one big one it would get the shakes pretty bad and eventually shake it self apart. any help would be appriciated thanks.

not a bad method of thinking,
problem is youll have to bolt them together. but youll have the same effect simply by running a third row down the center and it still one ramp

thats not a bad idea. you'll probably put a bit more of cost in it with extra material but then you'd probably be able to sell them seperately as dirt bike ramps and make your money back and possibly more. either way you'll be good to go :macho

Hey bignorm, quader400 and I are both from Barrington, IL. We ride at Byron together all the time. Hit us up with PMs if you want to go ride sometime. Ill be done with school soon so when I go home, all I have to do is install my engine, and we should be riding sometime around the beginning of May. quader400's dad is a professional carpenter and they got their own woodshop so they will be building one off of the plans from fmxschool.com. They have virtually an unlimited supply of wood so they won't be skimping out on the structure. I'm not sure how it's going to go but it should turn out well seeing as it's going to be built by a professional woodworker. If a professionally built wooden ramp can be constructed for bikes, then why can't it be adapted and strengthened for quads? I can't wait to see how it turns out. :macho
