Well, what is your favorite MX tire.

1) Holeshot MX

2) Razr MX

3) Kenda Klaw

4) Turf Tamers

Also, post if you want another option up there, but those are the most popular tires. If you have time, explain why you like one tire over the other.
thanks!

Iv ridden on Razzrs and Kendas

both very good tires.. BUT the kendas are better..

there awsome ..

you cant go wrong with either tire tho

BTW Kendas are cheaper then most tires out there for MX and there (at least to me) one of if not the best tire out there

Where's the Turf Tamers?

Overall, I think they are the best and it is definitely my tire of choice for MX!:D

On ITP's site, they say the MXR's wear faster than the regular MX tires. But the MXR's only weigh like 9.5 pounds or something like that!

kenda klaw 20" front tires and 18" mxr rears....i havent found a better setup yet, havent gotten my hands on a set of rear kendas tho

for front tires I have ridden both 19 and 20" holeshots and they just cant compare to the kendas, they really hook up. the mxrs do wear on the quicker side but i have gotten such perfect traction from them i believe it is worth it without a doubt

Did you guys know about the new ITP Holeshot MX4's? Supposed to have a stiffer lug for the newer 450 machines. Checkem out.

i just found this on their site:

ITP now delivers the knockout punch with the release of the all-new Holeshot MXR4. Developed with input from the factory race teams, the Holeshot is designed specifically for todayıs race-ready 450cc 4-strokes. A stiffened knob and reinforced carcass work in perfect harmony with the high torque output of these new machines, resulting in less knob flex, more consistent cornering characteristics, exceptional traction on a wide variety of surfaces and longer tread life.

The Holeshot MXR4 is available in 18x10-8 and 18x10-9 sizes, as well as two all-new, groundbreaking 19-INCH SIZES: 19x10-9 and 19x10-10! Racers will soon find that this is the ultimate setup for rougher, sandier tracks. A bigger footprint enhances traction, while the larger circumference more efficiently rolls over bumps and holes. This is a bold step forward in the search for high-performance closed-course handling and traction! Are you ready for Southwick?

sounds pretty good, we'll have to wait and see what their like

19" rear sure is interesting...kinda makes you think about if you need it or not :p

yes. very true! with 2-3 races, a few times messing around on the track, and one short ride on the road (taking it easy, road to make sure carb was setup right) mine are already torn up...

next tire will prob deff be turfs/radials

I have holeshots in the rear and razrs in the front....and I think this set up is awsome. On the track the fronts grip so good, and the rear slids around when I want it to, and grips when I want it to. I don't have the holeshot mx's, I have the XCR's but I don't see much of a difference. Awsome set up IMO:cool:

klaws kick ***.

holeshots wore down way to fast, seemed to pick up mud in the grooves better and was a little to hard to slide around imo.

klaws just seem to do everything just perfect.:)

i love my razrs, i run 20 rear 22 front and the MX 18s and the MX 20s.

as far as the 19 rears i was just thinking about that today if theyd ever use a diffrant size then 18s, like 17s or 19s. dont flat trackers go as low as 16''?

All I have tried is Holeshot MXR, so I have nothing to compare to... I hear that the Kenda's are good.

i personally dont liek the kenda klaws at all. i rode on my friends set up (grooved radial fronts w/ klaw mx rear) and it wouldnt like for chit, and i didnt like how they felt. I'm going with the itp mx front w/ tamer rears

I like my Razr MX the best. I have have ridden with the Kendas but not long enough to really have an opinion besides that they do hook up well. The holeshots on the other hand I have had and didn't really like them they wear to quickly. But they do have some good points they hook up like a beast and can slide into a corner at will and have instant traction out of it. But I haven't had any reason to change from my Razr MX since they really haven't worn down. So I am still running them. I would like to try kendas next. Remember to keep it real and keep riden'.

well, it is my opinion on the Klaws. I'm not saying they're a bad tire, i just didnt like them, they felt to me like they had to much side bite, and they felt like they wouldnt slide as easy as i wanted them to. jmo

I`ve rode turf tamers, holeshot mx, and fast trekkers, i think that the turf tamers slide just a little, the holeshots wear fast on harder surfaces( i ride in a lot of clay) the fast trekkers i have had for allmost 4 months now and they still have the rubber molding tits on em there more of a square tire but the have excelent hook up and ballon at higher speeds

you have never riden on a track w/ them though so you really dont kno what they are like. cuz you were riden around on grass and the tires arent even near broke in. so really you dont know what its like to ride with them.

the little bit i got to ride on the track with them before i wreaked:rolleyes: they were pretty nice the did bite in the turns but in a good way and i could slide them if i wanted to. in practice i was comin up on 2 wheels but i dont think that was because of the tires cuz i did that last time i went to that track with the bald turf tamers. they also hooked up real nice in the straight aways and barely spun at all comin off the line.

i really like my grooved radial/klaw setup:D

Klaws!!!! perfect bite and controlable slide!

Holeshots ?!? good tire but they are too much $$$ for the WearFactor

Maxxis Razr ??? Slide too much for me! didn't like the feel in corners especially in the softer terrain

there's some pennies for ya
