I had x-ring gold premium, cost me about $110 and I only got 6 months out of it (or is this normal?)

my stock chain has lasted me more than 3 years on my 400 and i didnt exactly go easy on the bike. I always made sure the chain was adjusted right though. Mabye that was ur problem. 6 months is early for a chain on a 400ex

regina. I didnt trust the stock one after a year and a half. I dont want to lose a race because my chain was old and fell apart during a race.
If you want a long lasting chain then lube it regularly and keep it properly tightened. I lube every joint and my chain after every ride.
I am running a D.I.D atv chain and it is double X o-ring and I realy like it.It was very resonably priced also.....

D.I.D. X-ring, no problems yet. Like stated good maintenance will prolong the life of any chain.
