Good (and safe) place for kids to ride in Indiana

I have a 7 year old who wants to run the GNCC youth races when he's old enough. Is there anywhere that is safe for kids to ride at? The thought of him riding at Haspin terrifies me...Ive been there..Anyone take their kids somewhere else?

the red bird state riding area might be good, when I went it was a muddy mess and snowing so it sucked, but it looked like it could be pretty fun in the summer, look into that
