The 17th annual White Brothers 4-stroke national had a great turn-out. There may have been more entrys if it hadnt been for a works race schedule the same weekend. There were 22 pro entries and 24 amatuer entrys. With that many amatuer entrys they had to have 2 divisions.

That he is. He is a great practice rider. Ive yet to see him wreck during practice. He just pushes a little too hard in races.

There were a lot of AZ racers out there tearing it up in the Pro class!!......good to see everyone in the pics!!! Great pics, too!!! It's great to see Glen Helen race coverage!!!

August is very fast....he looks so comfortable in the air when his quad does things that would make any normal racer pucker!! :) Give him more time on the track......I think he will be someone to watch out for as he gets more track time behind him! :)

Congrats to everyone who raced out there - wish we could have gone!!!

great coverage brittney. Just rember a few rules about motocross, If there is more than one class on a gate, The higher class gets first pick on the line, NOT LOWER CLASSES! So if someone pulls in front of someone else on the line who is a beginner please keep your comments to yourself O.K? thanks and see you at the next round.

quadracer4life
04-28-2004, 09:42 PM
But if everyone on the line is competing you should get there earlier to get a better spot, not take someone eles who has been waiting

parkers30
04-28-2004, 09:50 PM
yeah but it like a GNCC, respect the class above above you and let them pass.... wel they guy in the class above you should be faster, so let them have the good spot so the can have a better start, basically its all being considerate :D

Wait a minute.....when there are two different classes sharing a moto with two different gates.....say Pro and Int......the Pro's (who will go out on the first gate) get the first pick at the gate. Any Int. can line up behind a Pro to go out on the second gate. There is no way an Int. should be sitting at the gate where a Pro needs to line up and make the Pro choose another spot. That would not be tolerated, even here at our AZ local tracks......that goes the same for Beginner/Novice.....no matter who is in the "slower" class, when it's a split gate, the higher class gets first gate choice. And the lower class can always line up right behind to get the same spot, anyway!

What happens if its two different classes but they are going at the same time... 1 gate drop?????

Then the highest class participant gets the first choice of gate positioning.

yup

higher class gets the gate pick, the only one u could say no to, is someone in a lower or equal division

Yep - higher class gets first pick.....that's just racing etiquette. Might even be a rule somewhere......if not it's at least an unwritten one. :)

I don't see the big deal about gate pick anyway - to be honest. I usually wait and line up on one end or the other......where I start out on the line has never really had a bearing on whether or not I get the holeshot (unless there is a big mudpuddle right in front of me....I will move then!). And I usually do pretty well on the starts......I know some people will almost get in fistfights to get the spot they want......maybe I'm missing something! :) lol!

ya totally... i just think its a little rude to take a lower classes spot even though you are in a higher class when they all ready have swept and everything and you guys are going at the same time... but maybe im wrong... thats just my thought

ITP does a horrible job about line choice at their races. IT is complete mayhem! people scrambling, cutting, ect. They shouldnt even put people in the position they do. All they need is one person at the gate and let everybody in when their gate pick is up. Example (please read people) If you are having two classes and one gate drop, Let the intrermediates in first and pick a spot, either by their first moto finish (winner choses first and down the line) or who signed up first) then let the novices, beginners or whoever pick next. All they need is one more person, but that would make too much sense! They got one guy dropping the gate and working the sign, man I wouldnt want to be that guy, everytime there is a problem I go to him, so does everyone else!
