there's a place in Tyrone, PA that John Natalie rides at so i went down to check it out. this track was huge. there was a 110 step up and a 110 triple. i decided to do a few 50' doubles and stuff. after getting confident with the track. i started doing a few bigger jumps. i singled a downhill 80' step down and nose-dived BAD on one wheel. my ankle jammed and...

broke in 3 places, tore my achilles tendon, and tore some ligament. 6-8 weeks. this really sucks cause i had my whole year planned out and i was winnign C points for the year. o well. the quad is fine. if i would have had propeg/heelguards i would have saved it. bummer.

that track was so fun. there were big berms that i was roosting. i was having a blast. my dad came out to one double, said i was getting easily 10 feet high. i learned how to tilt/whip like Huevos. last lap just went huge and my adrenaline was pumping. there was a supercross section. big dobules out of berms then a nice step up. you had to get about 10 feet of air just to land on top. it was so fun. o well. i'll be racing again...

oh man :(

well, rest up and get well. them achilles injuries are a pain to recover from. let's hope you dont need surgery.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you heal fast.
A good rule of thumb for quads is:
"The very FIRST mod to do is nerfbars".

Were you wearing riding boots?

i did have nerfbars and i did have boots. i was in a full 661 pressure suit gear, boots, everything. i had my footpegs sharpened. and i already had my propeg/hellguards on backorder but it sucks they didn't get here in time. i would not even think about ridign without boots or nerfs. i think they'll be here next week along with my HMF Bill Balacne Series slip on. i'm a fast healer, i'm young. :D

thanks, i'll find out tomorrow and see if i need to have surgery on my achilles tendon. doc said last night it's torn but it probably won't need surgery, but i'm goign to a specialist tomorrow.

My bad, when you said Propeg/heel guards, I thought you meant you didnt have either one yet.

Be glad you were wearing riding boots! As strong as they are and you still did that much damage, think what would have happened if you were not wearing riding boots!
