I will be there also. 2 questions though 1st will the sparks full system on a 450r pass the db check? And 2nd which class should I run in? I'm 25 yrs old and this is my 1st time racing a gncc race. I just want to finish and STF out of everyones way. I'm to fragile to get run over you know.

Thanks Jonsey. Will they have good signs when I get into town? When I went to the ironman, no one seemed to know anything about the race.:(

bradley300
04-26-2004, 09:00 AM
you wopnt be going into town, once you get off the exit, you will see the black and orange or red and white arrows, just follow them to the track that is on the same road. real simple to get too off the exit, not turn or anything and its less than 5 miles from the interstate

I just talked to a guy at HMF and they will have a booth set up to properly test the db level of your quad pre-race tech inspection.

We will have a sound testing booth at this weekends GNCC race in Sparta, KY. Our goal is to service racers with our pipes, or any racer for that matter. We will be using 3 different instruments to test and determine dB levels. 1.) db meter and calibrator, which will correctly show decibles readings. 2.) Vibrating Reed tachometer, which will correctly measure your engines rpm's 3.) Anamometer weather station, which will correctly measure wind, humidity and air density. All of which play a part in correctly determining dB levels. This will give the most accurate reading possible. So anybody that wants to know what there db rating is can come and get asn accurate dB reading. This in not a substitution for tech inspection, but mearly a preparation before tech inspection. We will start testing mid-afternoon on friday 4-30-04.

hope this helps you all out.

I've never raced the other track, but I too am not happy about the change, since I have race both years they have had it at the new location and love it. Hopefully this track will be like the past two years at the Spartan.

Gates open at 9am Friday morning and will be open until all the racing is completed.

There are people that will be pulling in at all hours of the night so you don't have to worry about getting into the track. The fun part is finding a good parking spot in the dark.

spincr4hire

sounds like it won't be as rough, according this:

"We're going back to the old GNCC track in Sparta this weekend. If you're coming South on I-71, make a right at the exit and go for two miles. The track will be on your left. DO NOT make a left and drive for a half mile, as the old directions indicate.

GNCC Trail Boss Jeff Russell elected to move the track since there will be less rocks and less trouble if we do get any rain this weekend. So never mind the weather, should have a great track to race on."

GNCCracer
04-28-2004, 11:38 AM
The old track is better in my opinion. The trails were nice and technical, and less rocks. No big hills, but the field sections are still pretty rough like the track that we ran the last few years.
Plus if it rains I think this place will be easier to get in and out of.

cdalejef
04-28-2004, 11:39 AM
After we stopped racing there a few years ago, they opened the place up to public riding. Last time I was there the place was tore up really bad with trials going all over the place looking like a spider web. :( . Soon after that they closed it down because it was getting out of hand.

GNCCracer
04-28-2004, 11:43 AM
Jeff, I didn't know that they opened it up for public use. I'm sure Racer Production will get the trails beat down. I know at St. Clairsville the trails are really tore up before the National weekend, but somehow they always get them cleaned up and race ready.

Las theres not any steep hills but if its wet its going to be like riding on ice.Hard packed dirt alittle rocky and some off camber.

Like Jeff said it was opened to the public and the last time I road there it was rurted out and the trail run everywhere like a plate of spagetti.

I hope we get the trail or I'll be in Traci's and Ricks Trailer.

Everything opens at 8:00 I believe. Registration and tech inspection is gonna take about 1.5 hours to get thru I'd say so get there early.

I"m gonna push my quad thru inspection and just make brap braaaaaaaap braaaaaaaaaaaaaaap noises and I think i'll be able to trick them..:huh

04-29-2004, 02:32 PM
since i've showed up late to the last couple races i've noticed that it only takes like 5min to get signed up and go through tech when its only like 15minutes before the start and there's nobody in the line. kind of nerve racking to do it that way though and you can forget about getting a good spot on the start line.

04-29-2004, 02:35 PM
Well the good news is they are not calling for rain now.

They're calling for thunderstorms instead....:o I"m riggen up a prop on my quad in-case the creeks get too bad..:eek2:

Rico, I gave Jeff a couple of Bad Monkey Racing stickers. He went by me so fast at L.L. that I could not see if it was on there or not. I told him to give you one though. BMR stickers are the perfect ticket to make you go fast in the mud so you might want to get it from him. I better bring plenty if Popo is going to ride naked, so we can cover him in somehting:devil:

Woke up to a good solid rain and said **ck it. I couldn't battle that traffic and mud hillclimb to the parking anymore. Tip of the day, "stay at the track". Life would have been much easier stayin on the mountain. That was the biggest mud fest I think I have seen in awhile, although entertaining!!! LOL!!! I'm watchin the forecast a little more closer next time. That blows on the DNF. Hope ya didn't mess ya fo wheeler up any.

A DNF is better than a DNS! We didn't even make it to the line. Got up with it raining and said, screw it. It was so wet at our campsite it was like walking on a sponge.

What happened for your to DNF?

What a mess. It took me 2.5 hours just to get into the parking lot this morning because of all the people getting stuck just trying to get in. I missed the entire morning race, good thing I wasn't racing. I barely got out of there with 4 wheel drive and some dynamic driving and I was only 500 yards from the main road in. The rest of the kentuckyriders crew were about a mile back and several of them had 2 wheel drive trucks pulling trailers. They may still be back there waiting on a pull from a tractor. Glad to see you guys made it out Spincr...

Who's ready to clean bikes, I'm bringing mine over so you can get started!
Congrat's to all that finished!!
I had electrical problems, blew a fuse, changed that and it still wouldn't start-must have a pinched wire somewhere. No one could figure it out. I watched the entire morning race and some of the afternoon race stuck on the track.
I ended up getting pulled to a field by 3 quads strapped together, and then I pushed my bike for a mile through a field, until some other quad pushed me to the creek bed, and then I hooked up to a dozer with 4 other quads for a trip up a hill, then I had to hitch a ride with another quad to the trailer.
I got back just as Jeff was taking the win-missed the whole thing!

It was fun though, met lot's of nice people on the track who were stuck too~

After 9 hrs of hearing "your next" we finally got out at 11pm. The trick to getting out early was to make it to the road adn get stuck. We had a vehicle that parked crossways blocking in a bunch of us and a stuck honda civic on the other. Oh well we made it home alive.

05-02-2004, 09:32 AM
By the sounds of it I'm kinda glad I missed this one..:eek2: Sucks missing the closest race to my house but at this point I don't think I missed much.

I planned on headin out and getting to the track by 8, looks like I woulda been running the afternoon race no matter what if it took that long to get into the track..

i was the guy in front of you on the dozer ride up the hill. that dozer did a nice job on my bumper - i just got done cleaning everything off and got to see how bent up it was. i'm glad you explained why it took so long to get back to the trailer cause i was so beat when i got back i couldn't even really explain it to the people that were all waiting for me. they had been up talking to the racer productions people trying to find me for like an hour. thats the worst race i've ever run. 46th in c class. i put a hole in my side case and spewed all my oil out back in the woods somewhere. it was a fun track though - just wish i could've at least finished my second lap.

Well we made it home around 5 am Sunday. We were stuck at the track until after 8. Most of the people were pretty cool about getting pulled out, but we realized some people were getting special treatment from the tractors. Oh, thats right because they were paying them.

Me and Spence were stuck on the first hill for at least an hour. At least it was fun to watch.
