Drive Shaft seal?

Do I need to split the cases to replace the seal on the drive shaft (the one by the front sprocket)

Not if you can pry the old one out without damaging the case or shaft.
I just replaced a kicker seal on an xr and it was a piece of cake. Took longer to clean my hands.

No you dont have to split the cases, u can use a skinny screw driver to pry the old one out. I was scared when mine started leaking too.
