head gasket

i just put a wisco 440 big bore kit in my quad it been runnin good and strong and all of a sudden it blew a head gasket does anyone know what would have caused this?? would it be somthing serious is it going to keep on blowing them???

the 440's have a tendency to pull the head studs out. you might want to just have a builder install larger head studs. i hear the FDO studs are great. not saying this is your problem, but it is a common cause.

As mentioned above, pulling head studs is a fairly common occurence on the 440s, which will lead to blown head gaskets. Also, some types of head gaskets require the head nuts to be re-torqued after the motor has been run a while, and skipping this step can lead to a blown gasket.
