I found a 1999 honda 400ex in the paper yesterday i called and he wants 2800 for it but im tryin to get him talked down, its got renthal bars, t4 exhaust,and a 416 kit does it sound like its worth 28?

$2,800 is an ok price for that. Try to see if he'll go lower, if not, take it for what he's asking.

i wouldn't buy that 400ex...needless to say any honda besides trx450r...all have their drawbacks

no offense, but you are an idiot. the KFX has MAJOR drawbacks besides the weak frame, swinger, and arms..the starter is a frequent problem with them. go to a real mx track that actually takes balls to race, and see how long your "bullet proof" kfx holds up

^^^:devil: i usually dont like flamefests but eh, as long as its against paulina.:devil: but back to the subject.....my friend just bought a 2001 400ex from the dealer for 2900 out the door. this one was in mint condition tho. try to work him down the 2500 and if no luck give him the 2800.;)

i know my frame is weak but it can all be fixed....can you fix the 400ex's engine from being air cooled....i don't think so.....and everyhonda has drawbacks....the 400ex's engine revvs out slow,the rincon has drum brakes and doesn't have a locking front differential,almost all the hondas have crappy drum brakes,the z-250 is faster and more fun to ride then a 250ex,the rancher is slow and heavy compared to the wolverine,the 300ex has a square tubing frame,also the rincon may have won the baja like the 450r but thats just because honda had good riders...i mean a 400ex came in 3rd doesn't that tell ya something,andthe trx90 is heavy and cost alot,and i don't care what anyone says but the yfz is faster on the track...the trx may be a little faster but its not like your gonna be doing 80 mph on a track.....and it took honda a additional what 6 months to come out with the 450r and it still isn't as good as the yfz...go ahead and flame me and stick up for your hondas.

I havnt seen anyone having problems with their 400ex's over heating...
The Rincon has drum brakes to protect it from the mud...
The z-250 is NOT faster or more fun to ride compared to the 250ex- come on even dirtwheels said so..:o
Have you even riden a Rancher? I would say it is the most capable smaller utility out... I have seen one out jump a Blaster...
Have you riden either the yfz or trx450r for a long time on a track?

nope i think he weighs even less. prob like 90 pounds.:p he thinks hes a better rider then me too even tho alls he does is sit on it and give gas.:p

i sold my 2000 300ex for 2,850 last fall it was bone stock accept for a pipe, filter orange fenders and powdercoat, but i`m not shure how much they are worth now days

I friend of mine had a 2001 400ex, all stock except new tires and bars for 2400 and i didnt buy it until it was too late!:mad: And that thing was mint too. yea ok matt...ur 250ex is very slow and the only reason i couldn't lift up the back end was becauseit was in a mud behind hebelers and everyone was getting stuck....remembe r whe n i let you ride my kfx and you kept on stalling and took it through mud and couldn't even get it out yourself and had to have derek get it out....yea so stfu
