First let me say thanks for who ever wrote the tech artical on doing your own valve adjustment.

Second, thanks to Exriders for providing the forum for the artical.
I just completed my first valve adjustment, and all went well. The above mentioned artical was spot on. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd have to say it was a 4 or a 5. The biggest issue, (besides drilling out the two cross threaded bolts on the gas tank, ((from the factory))) was the feel of the rockers on the feelers. I went with the suggestions from the board that "a slight drag" was not enough and set them up so that Icould not get the next biggest size in the gap...
I have about 40 hrs on the bike, and the pre-adjustment gaps ranged from .001 to .004 out of adjustment.
I'm currious as to what gap would "require" a valve adjustment,
or just how far out of adjustment .001 - .004 is. In other words were my valves way far out of adjustment or would they have been fine if I did not do the job...
Peace
