so does swapping out a a stock 250x shock for a raptor shock really work that well? and does it lower or raise the rear end at all? also is there any other good factory front or rear shocks on any other production quads that will work better than the stock 250x shocks?

Everything I've read and heard says the Raptor shock is at least as good as a Works for the rear. Just make sure it's from an '01 Raptor. As far as I know that is the only shock form a production quad that will work correctly. I believe the Raptor shock does lower the rear some. Not sure how much. Try a search. There's been lots of threads on this. Hope this helps

technicly, the raptor shock is 2 tenths of an inch shorter than the 300ex shock, so it would lower it that much w/ the stock spring

I just put mine on.I like it so far but I'm having trouble getting it to rebound with the raptor spring on it.Would it rebound better with 400 spring or not?

It can raise/lower the ride height, depending where your preload ring is. I had one and it worked excellent! Well worth the money.

my rappy rear is alot better than my old works...

I would say the raptor rear functions almost as good as the 250x elka i rode on...

Well I finally got to ride mine with the rappy shock and I wish the front works triples worked as well. It lands soft and never got close to bottoming out. Mine sits about 1 to 2 inches lower but handles great. I have the 400 spring on but am not to radical on jumps and would rather have the cushy ride for my old bones.;)

The raptor shock works awesome.

Make sure you set the rebound and compression settings correctly.

In fooling with it, I screwed the rebound screw all the way in, sat on it, and it held it compressed without letting it up. It just sat there squatted. Wind out the screw and the back end went up.

So, make sure the rebound and compression screws are set right before looking for another spring.

The Cannondale shock is too long and the piggyback rezzy will hit the frame. Also, the Cannondale has a very stiff spring and will be way to stiff for the Honda.
