i just got my 300ex on tuesday and i noticed that it cuts out and is hard to start. also if you floor it in reverse it sputters. is this normal? also what are some good mods for it? thanks

Sputters in reverse is normal it's the rev limiter for reverse. When does it cut out exactley? Do a search for the mods that people do, usually a pipe rejet maybe a cam piston, some shocks and it's a fun quad. Good luck and remember change your oil after the break in.
