Dodge Neon

hey i have heard alot of crap about the newer dodge neons and i would like to here all the bad things about them that you can come up with, i am not trying to dis dodge but i hate the neons and i am trying to convince my friend not to get one, i think they are all a hunk 'o junk and they are all friggin yellow, i hate them, so if you could give all the trash about them that would be great

Yea, they are actually pretty sick. Something like 280HP for 05?

Have you guys read about the Ford Focus FX-8 concept car? Its a standard Focus packing the 5.0 liter crate Cammer engine (450HP/500ft/lbs) with RWD and limited slip. Talk about the ultimate sleeper car :D

im actually lookin to get a neon, id like to completely build it so i can race stock car 4 cyliner class with it. but yea my sister has a neon and she always has problems with it!!!!!!!!!!

My gf has an '01 Neon with 58k miles. She hasn't had any problems with it but she thinks there is. I cannot find a damn thing wrong with it. I never hear it but when she hits a pothole or a bump when going slow she says the shock sounds like it is bottoming out or hitting something on the frame. I cannott find anything. When traveling at higher speeds, i.e. speed limit, it is fine. Anyone else had/heard of these problems. If so, what was the fix?

the srt-4s are pretty fast but they are about as strong as a shopping cart. If you only plan on driving on the highway they are a good car, hitting a curb could total it. But I guess thats all cars. the older neons had a defective head gasket, the one in mine was replaced before my mom bought it. Its cramped to drive (im 6'1" 210 lbs) very very slow, Mine is the sport with the "High Performance" DOHC engine but i still think its one of the slowest cars on the road. My grandmothers lebaron is faster then it. But the srt-4s are fast, but I will never own a car again, so im biased against all cars.

yea the SRT's are the only neon i would take pretty sure the hp is 240 tho that things is a monster for power to weight tho

depends on which tranny, mine only has a 3 speed, if I baby it adn only drive on the high way I will only get 25, but if it had the 5 speed I could get 35.

When my brother still had his h23 motor with a AEM cold air intake, he beat a SRT-4 by about a car length in the 1/8th and about two in the quater. now he just totally demolishes them with his frankinstien motor.

So I guess you get around 20 in town. thats not too bad. With gas heading for 2 a gallon, small cars are looking good.

3 speed auto? I thought all cars today had overdrive. (4 speed auto). Guess I learned something new. Overdrive is a must in my book.

one kid in my town has a new neon with carbon fiber hood and a coffe can on it lol, buy my buddy just picked up one it doesnt have any problems yet, its brand new, pretty quick too

Dodge neons dont drive over rock wallsin reverse...my idiot friend knows from experince!!:blah:

neons are very slow....i have a 93 cavalier 2.2 auto that is stock. it is very slow and only has 4 kills total...2 are neonsthe only neons ive ever raced so im undefeated by neons, 1 stock, 1 modded. not sure what was on it but it was lowered, rims, exhaust and 200000 stickers so dont kno if he had anything else. never heard of problems with them but they are slow and are demolished easy. now the srt-4 i dont even consider a neon. for 19,999 ya get a car that 0-60's in like 5.6 seconds...fastest car for under 20k not bad

Neons are nice cars. My sister has a '98 2-door auto and it accelerates pretty quick, I'm NOT saying it's fast but it does okay for what it is.

The new neons look a lot better, and I haven't seen a yellow one yet:huh so I don't know what the guy way up there was talking about...They look exactly like the newer Stratus's but have a smaller engine.
