Is it possible to have a "street legal" quad. i seen a guy this weekend who had a license plate on the back of his quad and was wondering if anybody knows if its legit and what steps you would have to take.

A few states will allow it but you need many modifications for it to be street legal.(Approved tires, it needs to be a certain width, height, you need functional brake lights, blinkers, approved headlights. etc)

I'm not sure which states will allow it but you need to get the vehicle regulations from your department of transportation.

I have heard of a few people who have done it and they can't cross state lines and are always harassed by law enforcement.

There's a guy on bluetraxx or yfz central one that has a street legal Raptor. I think he's in Cali, not quite sure though. It's pretty nice. :D

Yes threewheelers can be made street legal. Here in Canada same deal but not 4 wheelers.
In Europe they are no problem. In Switzerland you don't even need a helmet because they are clasified as cars!! In Germany you need a seatbelt for any passengers!! At least they are open minded toward different modes of transportation!!
