View Full Version : Best Way To Pull Motor Out Of 400ex ????

I will soon pull the motor out of my 400ex and I would like to know how you guys go about this.

Looks like the motor is a tight fit in the frame and woul be a ***** to pull out....

anybody has done this already ??????

Pull all the mount bolts out, rock it forward, the head should point almost straight forward, just down past the top frame rails anyway, then turn it to the left of the bike, and then it should come out, thats how we did mine..

BTW: Using a sleghammer would work perfect right after I have cutted the frame with a sawzall :D

or you could take the motor mount bolst out and drop the bike out of a air plane

or u can let the tail gate down and have it roll out the back of a pickup goin 100mph on the highway, if ur lucky u'll be able to find all the pieces to ur engine

for a quick and easy way use a torch. if you want to take your time use tools (wrenches,ratchets,sockets,screwdrivers,etc.) hope this helps you.
