Just curious if anyone has noticed how easy the TRX plastic scratches up? I took it through some brush this weekend and it is pretty scratched up. We also had a Raptor with us and the plastic looks fine on it. The good news is that I called Honda and new plastic is about half the price of any of the other machines I've owned. I'm not going to replace it, but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed.

How much is it out of curiosity?

Rear plastic is only $80. Front plastic is about $45 each side and the nose piece is $19.

Wow for that price I'd consider putting some of that ugly-ness on my Cdale just to see the kind of looks I would get. As if 250R plastic didn't do that already :eek2:

Can you imagine describing to someone that it was the 2005 450R that I was testing for them. Aluminum frame, EFI, all the goodies. They would think it was awesome that technology was going there with quads. Then I'd have to break the news that Cdale did it in 2001

All kidding aside that is a great price on plastic. After I see some aftermarket hoods out there maybe I will start to like the look and will consider trying to fit it up. Anyone know if it will fit a 250r? Anyone tried to be a smart *** like me? Anyone have both and want to try?

Like the rest of the Honda parts, almost 1/2 the price of Yamaha. There are many hoods available, they cost more than the rest of the plastic. I bet you Honda comes out with a HRC hood, before too long.

Kazpr,
I just bought a 'carbon man" carbon look a like plastic hood, for $80. Its still steep, IMPO, but its less than 160 for carbon. His site is www.carbonmanatv.com

I spoke with Fullbore and they said that their plastic for the 450r will be out between June and July. Expect it to be between 500-600 dollars.

Good god full bore just keeps going up and up and up.. I will stick with the stock stuff, it all gets destroyed anyway... Did you try LA custom or Maier. I know Maier is no full bore but it is half the price and last the same time if you race.. Good luck.

Laker is still in the design stage. They are working on the molds. I will post pics of the lakers as soon as they go on my quad. The molds were made from my 450r and I will have the first couple sets. They wont be available for about another month after they you see them. Testing stage.:( :(
