I am very interested in getting the Elka Rear setup, (Shock plus linkage) but I was wondering if someone could eloborate on the setup, for instance, can the rear linkage be used without the shock or can the shock be used without the linkage.

I never noticed the problem since I haven't hit any whoops lately, but recently i have realized that it will be a bucking bronco over the whoops, and i don't want that.
I'm kind of tight on cash and was looking for the cheapest way of fixing this problem.
Thanks,
Joe

Ya I am in need of solving this problem but funds are tight also. I am interested in the walsh setup but will cost me about $1000.00 more than just the elka fix.

I was wondering the same thing too Joe1, so I called Elka the other day and asked if you could use their linkage without their shock and to my dissapointment you need to use their shock. The person stated that the linkage changes the angle of the shock and also has 11" of travel. This really bites the big one. Now I have to spend over a grand to help out the rear. I think I'll buy new tires and see if this helps out first.

I believe the elka setup costs $980
I talked to walsh today and their fix a whole new swingarm with different linkage. the said it will cost around $700 for the swingarm.

ya will spend about $1100 for the swingarm and the fix. Surely someone will make something soon can use stock parts with it. Would be very nice atleast :)

I also heard that you can get your rear shock revalved by TCS, but will that fix the problem, or do you need the linkage to fix it?

It is not the shock that is the problem it is the shock position.

if u go to www.gtthunder.com he has a 400ex rear linkage to use the stock shock to fix the problem if i was looking for something to still use the stock rear shock i would contact laz and see if he is doing the same for the R , just a thought
