I was considering a stage 1 cam, I don't want to build a whole race motor just add a little extra top eend punch. Anyone have any thoughts?

i would give it a shot. my friend gained some top speed when putting in a stage 1 hotcam with a 10:1 piston. that wasn't even a true 10:1 either. i would make sure your jetted right and your throttle cable is adjusted properly. also, higher gearing will get a little more top speed.

just get the cam and do the gasket mod. or get a group buy ross.

I don't have either, but from what i've read on here, the stage 1 gives most of its improvement at lower rpms, the stage two is better if you are looking for top end.

Id probably go with the stage two,I think it has more topend power. Plus, it's probably gonna give you more poower throught the RPM range over the stage one.

If you are looking for more top-end then go with a Stage 2 cam. The Stage 2 gives you more mid and top-end. The Stage 1 gives you more low-end and mid.

Will a stage 2 cam work with a stock head, header and carb? Will the motor be over cammed? Anyone actually drop one in and how did it run?
