the uphill jump in the back that was a sort of step up is now a single and you can hit it in 4th easily. id like to see them fis the face of it a touch but you can get some decent air off of it

Is Paul coming down? What about those Denton boys?

Delaware152
04-21-2004, 06:26 AM
Paul probaly will if he gets his motor back. I don't think the Denton boys are going but who know's with them. Hopefully it's not going to rain.

I am just kidding....I would run Vet class if I raced, but unfortunately I do not have a quad. I will just be there working.

Pappy, some of those guys get a little PO'd when they get beat by a XC quad....let me tell you from experience!!!

Pappy
04-21-2004, 10:28 AM
no prob...ill race with my 45 on my hip...again:eek: :D

YLW400
04-21-2004, 10:47 AM
You got a bike now Brian, or what? Could you save me a "reserved" spot right behind of the gate...VIP parking, if you will..lmao :o I'll be talking to you, I am sure. Also, do you have any clue what the race order is looking like, or do you all mess with that on race day?

Pappy, use a silencer, it attracts less attention....lmao

Delaware152
04-21-2004, 03:47 PM
Pappy...if you want to borrow a set of 18" tires I am sure I can find you a set...in the tire rack. They should even hold air.

Pappy
04-21-2004, 05:14 PM
i just got a pm telling me to keep the XC tires on so when i screw up i can just keep riding thru the woods and go home:mad:

OK guys we made some major changes yesterday to the track....after some discussion we just felt we should make it safer.

The upper rythym section with the 3 doubles is now double, double, big tabletop (safer).
The big tabletop before the up hill is now refaced and about 15 foot wider (safe).
The uphill and downhill has been reworked to make it smoother with mulch added to the turn at the bottom of the downhill.
The back section in the woods has topsoil and mulch added making it less hardpack. The triple in the back has been made into a tabletop (safe).
The front tabletop has been refaced and we lowered the back side for a smoother landing.....the whole tabletop was moved about 6-8 feet further from the turn to allow you to get more speed to hit it.
The whole track had mulch added to it...softer to wreck in!

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:04 AM
can i come over tonight and try it out:confused:

MooseRacing
04-22-2004, 08:06 AM
its not quite finished...will be working mulch into the soil tonight and will still have excavater and dozer on the track....Sorry!

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:07 AM
:o i wanna play with that dozer:devil: i may stop over to take some pics and check her out...you gonna be there?

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:10 AM
Brian and Pappy need to ride it to insure it is safe for us:D

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:12 AM
lol...pappy and safe dont work together:p brian has seen me ride and i think he is afraid id run into the bulldozer:( :D

MooseRacing
04-22-2004, 08:17 AM
Chad and I rode it last night......it is fast but safe...we should see some quads jumping the big tabletop!

Pappy I am not sure whether I will be over there tonight or not....if I get my suspension back on I will probably be over there for an hour or so, plus I have Chads bike, so if I dont go over he cant ride eaither....but then I have to go do some work at my dads business....so we will see how time works out.

The biggest part of the work is done....its just working the dirt and mulch piles down into the track.

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:18 AM
How long is the big tabletop now?

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:19 AM
i'd like the landing of the big table redesigned. its kinda steep to land it...but im a big sissy so what do i know:p

MooseRacing
04-22-2004, 08:21 AM
Its not really longer....it is much wider and the takeoff has been worked up a little and the downside has been leveled out. The berm entering the tabletop has been totally rebuit to allow you to carry more speed into it.

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:21 AM
Just overshoot it  lmao..It's (was) only around 96 ft or so..lol

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:22 AM
SO, basically all your telling me now, the only thing you need to hit it is, testicles?:p

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:23 AM
i jumped atleast 1/2 of it on the 3rd lap during the harescramble. the quad landed and then just took a bounce and i was over it...i think i missed the landing:p

im glad TMX is taking the time and has the forethought to keep up the improvements!!!

MooseRacing
04-22-2004, 08:24 AM
It is actually smooth if you do overjump...Chad was landing about 10 foot past last nite and it looked really smooth (he was jumping in tennis shoes!!!)

The whole end is tapered down leading into the uphill.

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:25 AM
its a blast watching chad ride.

and i cant wait to watch the night races. why dont they let quads run the night races?

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:26 AM
Yea, well Chad is a "touched" person....lmao

Hey, can you see alot more of the track being a spectator???

MooseRacing
04-22-2004, 08:29 AM
I aired it out when it was first built and came about 5 foot short....it was 110' at the time (I was getting a running start from up in the woods and hitting it 4th gear wide open) and I bounced about 10 foot up in the air....it was scary as hell and Chad told me don't do that again!

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:30 AM
No thank you...lol:D

MooseRacing
04-22-2004, 08:31 AM
Quads are too much on that little track...we tried it last year and it didnt work.

Spaectating should be awesome....we planted grass on the hill beside the pond and took a lot of the brush and trees out....still a lot to do, but you can lay a blanket out down in the grass by the pond and watch pretty much the whole track.

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:32 AM
ok i figured it out. you guys run the small track down thru the field by the big table. i didnt think i saw lights everywhere:p

YLW400
04-22-2004, 08:33 AM
That's cool man....I can't wait to race it....WHat time are the gates opening, registration, practice...all of that?

Pappy
04-22-2004, 08:45 AM

Man, the track sounds awesome. My buddies and I always said if some of the landing where lengthened it would really be an awesome track for quads. Sounds like you guys really worked it over. Sunday is looking like more of a possibility now!

WIll any of your dogs eat my little Jack russel?

Pappy
04-22-2004, 10:18 AM
i have a 90 pound lab named Moose:p and a lab puppy named Yeller.

i have 2 kennels...one very large 8 foot tall....and one small 4 foot tall. my dogs can stay in the house if you fellas need a place to keep them for the night.

Moose will eat anything that he can fit in his mouth but i think your jack would be safe:p

YLW400
04-22-2004, 10:20 AM
That's awesome, I really appreciate the offer...I'll run it by the boss lady. Axel loves other dogs...But he likes to jump on them, and some don't take too kindly to that...lol

Pappy
04-22-2004, 10:21 AM
mine gets along with others. the first few minutes are usually kind of a pissing match then its all play. i have 6 fully fenced acres for them to run on so they cant hurt anything:p

YLW400
04-22-2004, 10:25 AM
Yea, thats exactly the way it goes...When he went to obedience school, they had a lean arse Doberman there, and I was a little leary.....Man they jumped and slobbered on each other for an hour non-stop...:p They both loved it..We put Axel in the truck, and I don't think we were out of the driveway and his butt was snoring.....lol My in-laws have an Laso Apsoh......needless to say the little guy dones't like Axel...lol

I should have my motor back saturday morning, so if everything goes ok I will be there Sunday. Thats if I have money left after paying the bill ( new cylinder, piston, rings, valves, cam, 3 angle valve job etc.) Thanks to Loudon motorsports half ***** over priced top end job that only lasted two weekends. They didnt cut new seats when they put the new valves in so it destroyed most of my top end at Budds last weekend in practice. I had to race a borrowed bike that I never rode before. Now I have two cmplete rebuilds within one month.

I must say that Tomahawk is an awsome place. What is the most amazing thing is that as easy as the MX track sounds the HS track is very technical and rough. I had a blast going out onto the MX track. The tabletops are sooo much fun. I wish I had the time to come out and give it a try on Sunday but I need to stay local with the kids.

04-26-2004, 08:28 AM
YLW400..I made it back to Seaford around 1:00. It wasn't that crowded so I was able to ride about 5 times and they were doing 20 minute sessions. I wanted to race but at least I was able to ride. I didn't want to miss a weekend of riding b/c this weekend is Budd's.

MooseRacing
04-26-2004, 08:29 AM
If we would have had a few more people signed up to race we would have raced! But, unfortunately there were only about 150 signed up and that wasn't enough to cover the insurance and ambulance fees.....so by canceling we are assured of a reschedule for expert points, quad points, and contingency.

The track Sat night was in the best shape it has ever been in....with new turns, new jumps, lots of top soil and mulch....we watered the heck out of it turned the dirt over and watered it again....expecting dry conditions for the first motos on Sunday. Oh well the track will be nice for Tue and Thur practice and open practice this weekend.

A few people, quads and bikes went out on the track around lunch time and rode all day....they had a blast, the mulch soaked up most of the water and they were getting all kinds of grip and blasting the jumps.

Anyway sorry we had to cancel...I will let you know when the makeup date is.

Delaware152
04-27-2004, 10:41 AM
Was the race cancelled b/c of the weather or a poor turnout? What happens if there are only 150 people on a dry sunny day? Will we at least get a pass or our gate money back?

YLW400
04-27-2004, 11:08 AM
I heard we had 30 riders in C class:eek:

yfz#88
04-28-2004, 07:25 PM
I have to agree with 152 a free pass or gate fee would be nice.It was a 5 hour day of driving and no riding time for us in va. I also asked would there be riding there later in the day and was told no. The track did look better than ever though. I will see everybody at BUDDSCREEK this weekend for the points race.

I'll definately be showing up at Easton once or twice this year. had a lot of fun there. only thing is, i'd havw t switch out my shocks since my spare set was just revalved for XC but that aint no big deal. have a good time on your trip and i want pictures of some serious Bass-thumb!:D

J.C. it's me gary, there's nothing like catching big rockfish i do the same down here only in the cheapeake bay and rappahannock river where the water is brackish. I landed one 10.5 lbs. what a fight in the early spring. This weekend i will be at buddscreek should be a great race if there isn't to much rain. They probally won't cancel. Good luck on the fishing trip.

I'm pretty smart huh?:o lmao Yea man, I sometimes go out of Rock Hall, over by Watermans restuarant. Man that is HUGE for the Cheaspeake! My buddies wife landed a 35lb striper up here last year, he is actually picking it up from the taxidermist this time up. Also last year at this time the New York state record was caught, at 55lbs:eek: That's a big *** fish...lol Good luck this weekend man!! You coming to Easton the following weekend? I'll be there..

Hey man sorry about your bad luck...everyone was told if they wanted to stay and ride later that afternoon they could...about ten guys stayed and had a blast. As far as gate fees we can't offer you a free pass just because you drove out to the track and mother nature didn't cooperate....you should see the grass in the pits now...we have to regrade and replant grass because of all the ruts in the pits. plus pick up all the trash everyone so kindly left.
It costs a lot of money to prepare for a race....yuke truck $1000 a day, excavator $2500 for 3 days, 3 qualified guys to run the equipment, 10 tractor trailer loads of mulch $8000, many many man hours, fuel for all equipment, AMA paperwork fees, Ambulance fees, Insurance fees.....and many more small items......so thank all you guys for your support with gate fees as this will help keep the track going to prepare for the next race.....in which you know quads are always welcome unlike many other tracks!

04-30-2004, 08:01 PM
