Oh please....I can go on any Jeep forum and find posts bashing Toyota's. Before I started TheQuadShop I was the manager of two major 4x4 shops for 6 years. I have seen very type of 4x4 come in and go out. No post you can show me will change my mind, I'm going off experience.

I've also owned 3 4x4 Toyota trucks and they were great. But for offroad I'll take a Jeep or Samurai over a Landcruiser anyday.

What about an early (66-77) Bronco? I've owned two, 75 & 77, and those little sum******'s would go anywhere. The coil suspension isn't the best for rock articulation, but IMO they are very worthy off roaders. :macho

Actually coil suspension is one of the best rock crawling suspensions you can use! Second only too coil overs.

Well, in a four-link setup yes. I was meaning in the stock configuration of those early Bronc's. Not much movement in those stock radius arms.

Man, now I'm getting all nostalgic thinking about my old rides. I never was able to put the fiberglass body on the last one like I wanted to. I wonder how many nights the wife would make me sleep in the garage if I brought another one home.

so is it true that these jeep's driveshafts are only like 2 inches in diameter? cuz if they are man that is messed. not only is the yota's driveshaft close to doublwe that, and its only a half-ton, but i think the driveshaft in the mazda is a lil bigger......

ledofthezep now owns his dads 66 Bronco. Its pretty sweet. Its all original exept the wheels and tires and I believe it has a 3" lift. Your right, that thing will climb a wall if you wanted it to.

this reminds me of a somethin i saw once, my dad used to work in a body shop and they had a jeep in there once that the guy went 4x4 in that was completly stock and fliped it, but the roll bar was all bolts no welds and the roll bar collapsed and injured him and killed his dog that was in the back seat:(

well, when you do intense engine modding you have to upgrade the drivetrain as well....kinda goes with any vehicle.

Amen to that. (at least the ford part) I wish I could get my hands on an old 66-77 Bronco. That'd be a very nice toy to take my time and get it built up how I like it. I wouldn't mind a jeep either though.

You should have never sold your wagoneer Jeff...didnt you have the bushwacker cut outs on it? I have a 74 cherokee and am thinking about putting some cut outs. I am thinking the 2 door xj ones will fit as good as the 4 door ones do on the 4 door FSJs....hehe later

Ya....I miss that old Woody :(. Yes, I had the Bushwacker XJ flares on it. The 2 door XJ flares should work great on yours! :macho
