View Full Version : Slapped the 400ex carb on the 250x last night..

it was a snap. i now need some jetting suggestions. i am runnin rich. after i got done hammerin it, it loaded up and died. i would let i cool and then it wood fire right up. it idles fine. i have a cobra exhaust. and stock air filter and lid on.

What jets do you have in there right now?

i think the main jet is 170, not sure. and thats all i know, i havent really looked at em.

i'd put a smaller main in if thats any help at all. that carb must help out a lot i would imagine

i would go to a smaller jet. I run a 160 with a 416 and sparks exhaust.

try going to a 148

I would definately retract on the main, 170 seems too big. Are you still running stock? If so, put the stock jets in. Stock main is 138.

148 for the stock main.

Yeah i yank out the main last night. its a 170. i have a ? in the jet kit, the main's are different then the stock ones, is this true? and i will try the 148 jet. Thanx guys

dynojet is different, K&N is not.

just go to your local shop or dealer, and order yourself some kehin jets, most shops sell them for 3-6 bucks a pop.that is unless you already have a jet kit.....

i say try to run it with no lid, see how it does. if it's still rich, go down some.170 defnitely sounds a bit much for that motor. order yourself a UNI filter while you're at it.

monday i had it on and running. i have K&N jet kit that came with it. i tried it monday with out the air box lid and it ran alot better. but i need to get sum cash and make her run good. LOl
