4/25/04 PA. State Harescramble Rd.#3

Huricane Hills will be the location of the PA State Harescramble Championship Rd. 3

Hurricane Hills is located in Clifford Pa. (North east)
Its off of I81 north of Scranton. I'll post a link with directions later.

Its an MX track with about 4 miles of awsome woods and grass track. Theres always a huge turn out. Its not a GNCC weekend so I'm sure a few top guys will show up.(not just us locals!)

race starts at 2:00 gates open 7am.

they also have youth and bike classes.

Take Route 81 to Exit 206 (Old Exit 63), Lenoxville.
Take route 374 East to
Route 106 East, go 3 miles to the track.

Yeah ill be there, This will be my first time at another track other then dutchman! Is this place pretty nice and more outdoors???

This is outdoors and alot more like a true xc event!!! You actually have to steer around trees.

i ll be there. it s been awile since i ve been there but it s a nice track from what i remember. it s pretty tight and i belive there s some rocks too.

This track will favor the thumpers over the Blasters, you'll like it Joe!!!!!


I love this track. Its alot of fun, it is a hard track though. Theres alot of real technical rock crossings and small hills in the woods. Also one of the tightest tracks the D6 has to offer. Most of the track is wide open and fast, but the few tight parts are real tight.

Well, the boys and I will be there, mom is staying home. We have tossed the Idea around about running the 6 hr. Give us something to do that weekend..LOL

AAAHHH I just give myself a hard time sometimes, I used to be real fast when I was around 50 lbs. lighter so now i just use it as a crutch.(excuse) Racing is the only thing that keeps me even remotely close to being in shape. Well that and chasin the lil guy around the house!!;)

Race was a little muddy but it didnt stop Chris Borich! They shortened the race to 1 hour.There was a good turn out, I counted 25-30 quads on the front row. Too all who survived congratulations.

A class had 26 riders I was amazed

that was a real harescramble track. nice and muddy,real tight sections. that was a fun track.

I was there, I was only able to complete 1 lap in c-class, I was about 7th in the holeshot and held that positions well into the woods, One of the riders behind me on a white yfz bumber into me and sent me into a tree which I couldnot get my quad unstuck! I was finally able to break the tree and get my quad undone, But after that I just didnot even bother going around again because I felt something else would go wrong pluss I basically new I was in the back of the back. If that SOB wouldnot have ran into me I would have easly been in the top 10. Did anyone see my position I had to leave early.........

If you only finished 1 lap then you were at least 15th or lower.

Now the dilema begins. When racing you have to ask yourself why do I keep going. I was having fun out there no clue where I was at in the pack. 1st lap according to the sheet I was one of the last through the barrel. 2nd lap I was about mid pack. Last lap the sheet had me in 2nd place. Very nasty track and noone was running away in the C class. When I finished the guy listed as 1st was pulling in right in front of me.

Now I have to state this. The guy on the paper as first did not win that race. My friend CDrookie should have won. He did the same ammount of laps as I did and the winner. He came in just in front of the winner. We were all about 10 secs apart tops. We get inside and they only had him listed for 2 laps. Apparently he was the last person to finish 2 laps. I know that is not true because we were riding around each other most of that race. So I know I got 3rd honestly, but I am listed in 2nd.

Round 3 PA STATE HARE SCRAMBLE SERIES was Muddy and slippery as all hell, I finished 6th in the VET class. I think we had 10 or 11 in our class. I was in second place going into the woods on the first lap...man it was muddy.....did i say i was muddy? I got hung up on a tree during lap #2 and was stuck for a good five minutes..then i apparently had a flat for the rest of the race and didnt even notice it...bike was all over the place...i figured it was just the mud..lol...Besides not being able to see,my flat,the tree,and Rain...I had a Blast...

thanks for stating my case derno! cross exriders off my list of sites to complain about the scoring! we rode a good legit 3 laps. even the guy on the 400ex, who possibly got first, was riding well. we swapped positions a few times and i'm not mad if they gave him the win. i'm mad they didn't score me on the second lap though! there's no excuse for it. bar codes, transponders, video camera at the barrels, pit board and marker, all would be fine! they might as well just write our numbers in the mud with a stick as we go thru.

rocks rocks and more rocks. thats what foot of the mountain is like. it s a fun track it s mostly all up and down hill and some spots are tight but it s rocky.

yep, the rocks aren't as big but there's more of them. also a grass switchback section on some rolling hills, good passing spot. woods aren't as tight, or weren't as tight, as hurricane hills. but it's still rough.

Foot is a fun track, but bring spares, theres lotsa rocks.. Well not alot of rocks just real sharp ones!!

BTW treebasher 573, that lapper on the EX just wouldn't move. I even tried pushing him off the hill, thats when i got stuck on him!!:grr: It bothers me when I'm nice enough not to bash people then it burns me. I shoulda bump passed him in the field but I kept thinkin he'd let us by. Oh well, no mercy for the lappers at the Foot!!:mad:

Yeah that was me! I love riding in the nike's but i forgot to bring my boots which didnot faze me too much. I got 6th or 7th into the holeshot and easily would have been first if this predator didnot cut me off which I saw in the tape, I was ripping in the woods but in the back section got caught and made me loose alittle time, All the way back in the woods I got caught on on a tree and almost flew over the bars Chris borich was right behind me and took an alternative route to get around but looked like he got stuck also but was able to recover. Cdrookie Yeah next time ill have to give you a shout I had no idea that was you. What I was saying is 2 laps is all they scored rookie with and he was listed as the last person in with 2. Even though he had 3 laps. They scored him as 14th place.
