Well I had a friend pick me up some Fram oil filters from Schucks last night, the part number is CH6015. I was wondering if anyone was running these filters, and if they could tell me if this was the right one?? Thanks for any help.

If that is the one for the XR400, then yes it is right. I haven't bought one in a while, but I remember they didn't list ATV's only motorcycles.

I wouldn't run a Fram filter in anything I own. They are junk! They are cheaply built and come apart. They were banned on the Superbike tracks from them blowing off because they don't use enough material on the threads and if you just slightly overtightened them they would blow off. Also Cummins will not warranty an engine with a Fram filter on it because the filter media comes apart in them. I would stick with a factory Honda filter. They are the best.

FRAM?!:huh FRAM spells junk... you might as well reuse the stock filter time and time again, at least then you might filter something:D

Nick, I run Amsoil filters on mine, but have also run the K&N filters and have been pleased with its performance. Nothing beats these Amsoil oil filters though....but pricey though:eek2: But I only need to change my oil about twice a year if that, so it evens out.

Looks like I will just stick with stock....if I even get the $ I will start using K&N. I have 1 fram filter left....so I mise as well use it, seeing as how I got 2 of them for free(other one is in the gf's rancher) Thanks everyone for your input though!

I agree. Fram would be pretty stupid to market filters that come apart, or have some kind of major defect. I think pretty much all automotive parts have to meet minimum specifications. I remember a thread relating to this a while back. There was a guy here that worked at a factory that made oil filters; he said that a lot of different brand filters are made on the same assembly line. I'm sure this is another case of "My buddy's cousin's uncle used one and it....". If anyone here can honestly tell me that they can tell a difference between Fram, Emgo, Honda, Amsoil, ect., without sending your oil to a lab, I'd like to know how. I've used Fram filters since day one on my 2000 400ex with zero problems; the only difference I've noticed is the price.
