I wanted to get an oil cooler instead of a larger capacity oil tank to help my JE 12.5:1 piston - 416 run cooler.

I did try and do a search first. I wasn't able to find threads regarding Mickey Dunlap's 400ex Cool kit. I saw some other threads for some oil coolers that you mount on the frame and a jagg oil cooler.

The only thing that I could find on the internet was this link. It provides some good numbers for the kit. http://www.off-road.com/atv/projects/400ex/coolkit/

In looking at the pics it requires drilling and tapping, so is this kit an addition to the already existing system?

It hooks on the line that leave your oil filter and goes up to the valve cover.
the firts 3 pics are not mind.

here is another pic I found.

you can see where the lise hook up.
They don't really hook on the top of the valve cover I just put it on there so It won't do any mess

i was wondering if anyone thought of using an aftermarket transmission cooler for a car i was thinking that there would probably be room to mount it plus it is about 5 times the size of the stock cooler cost about 30 bucks and there made to withstand alot of pressure

i am thinking about trying this on mine and i dont see any reason why it wouldnt work

Do not drill your clutch cover like the first pic, it is wrong and you will not get oil to the top end.

that is not my pic but I did it the same way just not as deep and it works great.

Mine is done the same way as the first pic. You just have to plug the bottom of the fitting and noch the side of the fitting so the oil can enter, works great. My other one is done the way Mickey suggested and is much easier.

440ex do you have any pics. of that battery box mount you have on the front? I am thinking of doing the same thing so I can run a LTE exhaust.
Are you running a stock carb? I have a stock carb on mine with a 42pilot and a 170 main and I detonated my piston.

Here are some pics of the batery.Yes I do run the stock carb with supreme gas. Race gas is to expensive.

What exacly do you mean by detonaded the piston. Does it look better that the one in the last pic

by the way hondatv I believe the LTE exhaust comes with an aluminum air box that relocates the battery in there, that one of the reasons its so expensive

parkers30, I need to run a air box lid on mine and the one that they have with the exhaust does not have a lid. So I will be selling the box.:D

can you just take the stock cooler out and move it down to infront with a bigger cooler?

yeah you can move the stock cooler to the front. That is what I had before. You just need to make your own lines.
