need help! choke is stuck

what would make the choke on a rancher stick? could i fix it or should i take it to the shop and have them do it?

Choke cable works a valve in the carb. Between the cable and valve is a spring that rust and breaks. The rust causes the valve to bind up. Honda sells a spring and valve kit. I had trouble getting the rust cleaned out of carb so valve would move easy. I repaired mine with carb still on bike.
