i went to the local D5 race today... and there was kids on 60s... kid hit into the back of the other kid on a 60 and was sucked into the rear tire between the rear tire on the fender... when it was all said and done the sproket ripped the chit out of the chest protector and the boy walked away unharmed got on his bike and continued the race... everyone there was shocked...
i seroiusly don't think the kid would be alive and his guts would be layin on the track if the chest protector wouldn't have been on him... that sproket and chain woulda ripped him clean open:(
moral of the story... WEAR A CHEST PROTECTOR they do save lives and u never know when urs might be next;)

The first day I got my chest protector I was trail riding and got speared in the chect with a fallen tree..it threw me a good four feet or so. They really do help and are worth the money.

to be honest with u... go to ur local dealership and try them on... see what type u like... find the one that u feel most comfortable in and get it... don't buy it bc of the name... buy it for comfort...
i personally wear a FOX ROOST 2... very nice with the arm gards cut off...

I wear my Thor Scattershield every time out too....its old school I know but I love it because I don't even notice I'm wearing it till I get shot up with a big ol rock from somebody's roost. Some criticize it for being too small but its just right for my size. Do like Tommy told ya and buy the right one for YOU. BTW, Im glad the kid wasn't hurt.....that would've been a horror story.:eek2:

Good story Tommy. I always wear mine now no matter what. I always thought chest protectors looked kinda silly, but I figure anymore I need all the protection I can get.
Won't ride without one now!;)
