Well i just put a full exhaust system on the 450r some of you might of heard about me having troubles with the 450r after rejetting. Well I was talking to a guy at beaverton and he said all i would need to go up is 122-125 from 118 which is stock. Then another guy from beaverton said that to call lrd because some people are putting around 200 main jets in theres. Well LRD gave me 172 and 170 but on the directions to put in the pipe and silencer right below the directions it says.... Jetting recommendations Clip position at the bottom and Main Jet: 190-195. Well then if its a 190-195 why did they give me a 172 and 170 hmmmm.

A lot also depends on what you did to your air filter/lid. Did you take the lid off? If so I think around a 185 to 190 is what most are running. If you left the lid stock then the 122 to 125 may be ok, but I'm not sure. I would just call LRD and talk to one of the techs there. I'm sure they'd help you out.

This is what I did, I bought the sparks jet kit for the 450r, it comes with 4 mains and a needle. I told them that i wanted to run a cut airbox lid or no lid at all, and I am running their airfilter. They told me with an oper airbox and stock exhaust, to run the needle on third clip position with 185 main and 190 -195 with their pipe. Anyhow I ran their suggestions, and the bike ran perfect. I upgraded to full HMF exhaust and I am running a 185 main, sparks needle in third clip with a cut airbox lid (just like the HRC lid) if I choose to run no lid at all, then I will need to go up on the main to 188 or 190. Anyhow its running beautifuly. If your having problems jetting, I'd highly suggest getting thier jet kit, and be done with it!
