I am in the process of buying some new haulers for my 450r w/HRC. I leaning towards the hauler 21x12x8. Does anyone have any experience with these tires and are they the best fit for my quad.

i have 20x10x10 8 paddle Skat Trak extremes. The extremes are the same tire as the hauler except the extremes have thicker paddles which means moooore traction. I LOVE EM!

350xryder,

The only thing that concerns me about the ones you listed is the 8" rim, that means you have 2" more sidewall in the tire that can allow the tire to roll over when trying to side slide in the dunes. I have seen guys run them and they appear to hookup and climb great, but I am with Manny55 and have always gone with the 10" rim size to cut down on the amount of sidewall above the rim. I just picked up a pair of 20x10x10 - 8 paddle haulers. As I bought this 450R for my wife I didn't want the extra hookup the Extreme Grips claim to have as I don't want it tipping over backwards on her. If I had been getting the tires for myself I would have gone with the extreme grips. Good luck on deciding, there are so many choices. I just picked these up on Saturday and we haven't been out to see how they work yet.... Scott

I agree with the added roll caused by the 8 inch rim, but is that offset by the added floatation a 8 inch creates.

I don't know. For my style of riding I like being able to do 360's and I'm not sure that an 8" rim with all that sidewall will do it as easy. Like I said before I see guys running the 8" wheels and they seem to climb just great but I have never tried them so I don't know how well they slide. Good luck in deciding.... Scott

I always run 8 inch rimd on my paddles. You loose sliding, but the gain in traction, and better drag times is worth it. I can still drift my 450r with my 21" haulers and 8 inch rims. 10 inch is good for 2 strokes. Theres a lot more spinning to keep the rpm's up. Going with edge tires on 8" rims is a good medium combo. the 8inch rim provides good traction for dragging, and the v shaped baddles still allow good drifting and cornering.

Any way you go with haulers will still be way better than all the cheap brands of tires. Only Sand Tired Unlimited Sand Skate I, and Badla Brat can equal and beat haulers in some areas. The rest of the tires are all pretty heavy (which means a lot in the dunes).

So go with the 10 only if you dont plan on dragging much.
