250r axle 400ex swingarm

has anyone ever put a 250r axle on a 400ex swingarm with an rpm bearing carrier? i put one in mine and it doesnt seam like i have enough space for the lock nutt? any suggestions?

The center of both are identical it the ends of the axle that is splined diffirent the R axle splines hold up better.I would say the carrier is where your problem is you didn't say if the carrier has tapered bearing or dual row, I've had problems with the tapered ones the bearings were too close together .

You have to use the 250R lock nut also. A 400ex locknut WILL NOT WORK on a 250R axle

I currently have this setup on my CRF. You must cut about 1/4" off the end of the locknut so it will screw in far enough for the retaining ring to go on the axle and drop in the groove. This is using the 250R locknut too.
