This really wont be too much coverage as i was again a participant not a reporter. My wife did her best to grab some pictures but with 2 kids to look after she couldnt stray far from my pit area.

The next 2 races I should be covering fully.

A class start

The start was on a slight uphill and then entered a wide open field section. You could easily tap it out!

30+ had 8 entries, ME being one of them:p I grabbed the holeshot and led thru the first turn, then I did my usual back off and let someone else show me the way (im on the right in this picture)

i follwed the leader into the woods and not to far in a banshee rider had gotton hung up. the leader tried to get around but didnt and hung himself up just long enough for me to get by both of them. I lead for awhile..so it was cool:p

The creek hillclimb was a blast! they dropped you down into the creek, then up the creek bed (which was rocky and tight) then an immediate right up the creek bank! The first lap i made it and knew the 2nd lap would be worse due to the destruction 75 quads tend to have on a 1 line hill:p

On the 2nd lap i boned it coming down a hill and got my right front wheel over a decent sized log. I was working on getting the quad back on course when a rider bumper my back tire forcing the quad into several fist sized trees...pinning me between them:D so there i sat for a minute trying to get myself unpinned!! finally i was off and riding again. The creek bank hill was open with 2 lines with a rider stuck on the "easy " line and several riders waiting thier turn to attempt it. i never slowed down, aimed my yfz and nailed the go button:devil:

that was it for me after the 2nd lap as im thru with thumb throttles...ill be switching to a twist this week

Now you can believe all that or that i just rode up and down the straight in 5th tapped a few times:eek:

The riders get single file to enter the woods. this wasnt a long course but it had its challenges!

Pappy
04-17-2004, 08:31 PM
more riders make thier way thru the field section

Pappy
04-17-2004, 08:32 PM

You could hold the quad wide open all the way thru that section. i wish i could have made a few more laps just for the hillclimb and the field section:p

sounds like that yfz throttle claimed another one. debating on switching to the 400ex thumber or yz OEM Twist. Besides the sore thumb how did you like the white beast it sure looks mean blast through the field......

keep the rubber side down

Triston

i liked it enough that my ol lady said i didnt need to sell it:eek: i am so comfortable on that quad its not even funny. its not perfect but damn is it close. the hmf and twist will be installed this week.

i did have a problem with my rear shock. on the last lap there was a long root filled hill and i couldnt get out of first gear. it was like the rear shock was ridged and the tires were just bouncing over the roots. after race inspection found the rear shock so stiff i couldnt hardley get it to move. i have a feeling there is a rock binding the linkage or ive toasted a set linkage bearings.

and a few 00ex's were out and a bout

Pappy

lilman found the whole adult quad race boring and decided he should just chill out:mad: :blah:

Pappy, my Brother raced and is in he picture with the black and red raptor and the quadracer on a 300ex with cut fenders. He got 64th overall in his first race. He made 5 laps which is not too bad. Are you going to go to the parsons race next weekend. I am going to race my Z400 for the first time. Like to see you there. I did not know you was there or would have talked to you.

Pappy
