im thinking about getting a WEB CAM stage 2, springs and a WISECO piston std bore.


how much of a power increase will i get?

do you think i would be able to take a blaster with pipe filter and .05 bore?

My buddys almost stock 300ex (k&n filter, fmf pipe) hangs right next to my friends blaster with a 20 over bore, fmf pipe, k&n filter..

dude no offense but if you can't take a blaster, you don't know how to ride; i can take my friends pimped blaster any day and all i have is a k&n filter for a power difference:o

we could both be topped out and he will go faster, so it not a matter of who can ride

i think my piston is fried because my 300 only goes 57 and i hear alot of people saying thiers goes faster.i think it may have the stock piston it it still and its a 94. but we bought it about 6 months or so ago so i dont know much about the wear and tear on it

yea you prolly got a nice fried top end...i would replace cam,cam chain,piston,rod,all gaskets,valves,rocker arms,etc,etc

i wish i had enought money to replace the whole top end......i will have to work at it piece by piece and gather all the parts.

all im garunteed now is the cam, springs, retainers, top end gasket and the valve guids


im not 100% shure if my dad will buy the piston because i dont have enough $$

sell the piston insn't really that much like a 100 bones,but i can see that will add up,just wait until you have all the parts you need and tear the motor down and do it all at once

Um.. the 300ex is only supposed to top out at 55.. So at 57 I woulden't think its blown :confused:

My friends does 55-60 at redline.. 02 300ex

however, my friends blaster hangs right next to it, if your friends blaster is geared for top end, then of corse its gonna pull top end..

Do a race from stop to top end, that'l show whos faster, I could make a 300ex top out at like 75, would that make it faster? no, casue it would take FOREVER to hit 75

you would need some big *** tires then to make it hit 75....idk wtf was i thinking 60ish it tops out,idk then...wat size tires do you got on her anway?

Stock tires could hit 75.. get a 16tooth up front, drop the back sproket a *** load of teeth.. not saying its a good idea or anything ;)


My friend has stock size tires I think, its not my 300ex, its my boys.. He has razr's on it, but i think there stock

the largest fron sprocket you can get is 14
the smallest rear is 36


i have 14/38
21in tall tires...i hear lots of people going in the 60 with thier 300 with the same mods

now i have a dilema. my dad cant buy the piston because he had to buy a grader box for the tractor

i have $200 and i need new spindle bearings. my dad might be able to order the bearings from work and get them for free.
so now i dont think i will be able to get the valves and springs.
i think i might just get a new piston.any ideas on what i could get ?

you have more top speed mods then my friend..

he has stock sprokets, and i think stock tire size, and he gets over 55, damn near 60...

You can get down to a 33 rear sprocket, I have one for my X, but I hardly ever use it.

I just bought 20 inch Kenda Knarly's for my 300. What size sprockets do you guys recomend? I dont want to loose top end power, but I also want enough bottem end also. I dont know if it matters but I'll be installing white bro's exhaust, K&N filter & jet kit at the same time as the tires.

i have never seen a 33 sprocket. that must give a **** load of top end

You can get them from nacs, mine is alum. but I don't use it much. Most 250x or 300ex will run out of power with it. Even with my mods it was too much, but comes in handy if you are on a real tight track where you only used first to third gears.

I would try a 14 front and see what you think.

Could yours pull 33T? I have a 14T and a 36T on my 300ex. Pulls it pretty good. You may just want to pick up a 305 overbore kit from profabatv.com. Not sure the type of increase your looking but I think its running $200's, don't think you need a new sleeve, since your only going .80 over. So you are looking at probally $200-250 for the kit, and take your engine to a local shop to have them do your boring which your probally looking at $50 for.
