hey i need some help. im doing a mailing list and i have over 7000 entries. problem is, i know theres probably 500+ duplicate entries and it would take me at least 3 day to delete them all manually. ive researched some ways to do it but i dont quite understand how to get the formula's to work with the macro's. is there anyone here that can help me out??? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hey Jon,
Couldn't you click at the top of the column and click Data, Sort, Ascending or Descending? That is if you put the names in last name first or in some consistant manner. Then just scan through them for duplicates?
Good luck!

I reckon you're looking for an actual formula to automate though

yea i have them all in order but theres probably 1000 duplicates and that will take too much time that i dont have to edit out. isnt there any easier ways to do it? there has to be!

Highlight all the colomns and rows and do a sort.... on the column with the dups. Its the easiest thing to do... the "if" statements will get confusing.

if you send the file to me, I might be able to take care of it.

I'm only going to be here for another 1/2 or so, so if you don't send it right away, I won't be on again till monday.

send to dberry@corp.phoenixintl.com
