I am gonna start to race very soon, April. i was wondering what tires to get. i clearly want 18's, but i don't know which tires

18'' Holeshots- MX
18'' Razrs
18'' Turf Tamers

if u take in all categories, handling, wear, sliding, and of course price. what would be the best. these tires will be used only for racing, nothing else.

oh yea what gearing on my sprockets

i have the 18 turfs in the rear... they hook up really good, they look good, they haven't got a hole yet, they are cheaper and thats about all i can say... but i like the turf....

The ITP holeshot is a great looking tire, they are only $20 more but they wear out so much quicker. Go with the tamers, you might want to groove them. And go with an 8 inch wheel. 18-11-8 is the correct size.

I have had both the tammers and the holeshots and I feel that the holeshots hook up better. But I still would like to see what the new razor mx's are going to be like. Let the tire wars begin!

OK
I have used all of your choice. They all wear about the same. If you get the turf tamers get the 18 9.5 8 size they work better than the 11 inch wide ones. Definitely get the 8 inch rims. If I was you I would get the new Razr MX's. They will last a little longer. Thay also hook up better in my opinion.

Dawzie, which Tires lasted the Longest? My Brother`s Holeshots seem to be wearing down already. That is Crazy. The Razr MX Tires look Sweet.

There is also a Razr MX Front. So yes it would be different from other Razr Fronts. I would think they work very well. Doug Gust uses the Razr MX Tires.

We have not kept a set long enough to see what lasts BUT we know the razors hook up the best. We also just got a set of 19" holeshots for the front. The bigger tire transmit less bump to the handle bars=less driver effort!! Floats better in sand and mud too. We hate the radials on the front, you could feel every little pepple on the track.

Made a mistake on those front tires. They are 20" not 19". Yesterday was our first race of the season. Took first in both moto's. There was only one other rider with any ability to give us a run, he was on a newly powered 250R with a 330 power valve motor. Couldn't keep up!! There was a guy there from NEATVMX, all pumped up about being a expert rider and all. Came in 6 out of 6 in the first moto, then went home. Five of our GOOD expert riders were racing down in Georgia.

Our machine isn't all chrome and wax, but it runs real good

The new razr 2's look really nice. Does anyone know if they will continue selling the regular razr's? I would think that the new razr 2 will not last as long as the regualr razrs, but i have no idea really.
