Wondering what 400EX parts you can use on a 250R. I know of many things, but any help is appreciated. Thanks.

i know that the brake hub and brake rotor will not work nor will the brake caliper mountin plate in the rear. also the axle will not work because the keeper ring slot is in a different location. axle carriers are exactly the same. thats all i know

The back does not work, I heard that the rear axle fits but Iam not 100% on that.

yes axle fits but the lockring slot is further out from the center than the 400ex, i know this for sure as from experiance with seting up my 250r style rear end on my yfz

The 400ex a arms are about 1/4 shorter then the R so you will have to shim them out. The shocks will bolt up. The axle will work but you have to use the same axle locknut and hubs.Another words if you have a 400ex axle on a 250r you will also need the 400ex lock nut and the 400ex hubs to put it on the 250R. The steering stems are difrent but you can make it work with some grinding on it. The 400ex stops are in the front and the 250R stops are in the rear so you have to grind on it a bit to make it work. Rear shock will not work as it is about 1 1/2 inches shorter then a 250R. Brake lines will work but the rear is a little longer on the 400. I just swapped all my stuff from my 250R to a 400 thats how I know what works!

If I use a 400EX axle in a 250R, I have to use 250R caliper stay, caliper, rotor & rotor hub. But, what about axle nut? 250R or 400EX? Thanks.

The only things you need are the 400ex hubs and lock nut to go onto a 250R.brake stay and all the other stuff will work.

Does the 400EX axle nut have to be modified when using it with the 250R caliper stay, hub, etc.? Thanks.

NO, I think they just placed the c clip in a difrent spot on the 250R.Everything else worked great except for the axle lock nut. And you just had to have the same lock nut as axle.
