I recieved my 440ex, but it seems like I have to bore the jug out more than expected. Anyone know what size sleeve and piston I am supposed to have. 88 mm sound right. with a 89 mm piston????

Yes, the jug has to be bored to acept the larger sleeve. It is not that big of a deal. The machining to get that done on mine was like about $50. My piston is a 88.5 mm but not sure what he size of the cylinger is, but I am sure that is right. Who did you get the kit from IMS, Wiesco?

That all depends, were you going to put in a cam at the same time? You don't have to that is just what I did. With the larger displacement you need a better flow to get the most out of your engine. I would recommend a better air filter, UNI or K&N. That and a pipe. Anything will be better than stock. ;)

give the paperwork/dimensions of your new piston to the person resleeving it,,it should have all the measurements needed,,they need it anyway to properly bore and resleeve..

This is true give them the piston that way they can check the fit. When done right they will match the sleeve to the piston.

If you are doing a 440 kit I would do it right....... Get a new cam get high performance valve spings get it ported and polished I would get a new carb also....... Oh and a full aftermarket exaust...... With out these other mods done your 440 will only be alittle better than stock....... If you do all of the mods you will have one sweet quad that will be hard to catch......
