Does it give you any extra power? What exactly does it do besides advance timing?

Where are you from in OK? I use to live in Tahlequah. It's about an hour East of Tulsa. To reply to your question, I really don't know. I don't think there is much gain from it. It should improve your throttle response a little.

In theory advancing the ignition timing allows for a longer combustion cycle, therfore more power, ... advancing cam timing, depending on intake, exhaust or both, shifts the power band of the motor either up or down in the rpm range.

So where exactly does the key go?

It replaces the stock woodruf key, on the flywheel. It revs alot better and a little throotle response....get it, it is worth the 20 bucks. i like mine!

I have one for sale. $15 shipped, I ordered one offline and couldn't wait so I bought one from a local shop.

I like it alot too.

It has been said that if you have extensive motor mods, advancing the timing can make the motor run hot. With this said, my engine is stock so installing the key would help. I plan on doing motor mods in the future, could I uninstall the advance key and put the woodruf key back in?

Make sense?

Yes you can go back to the stock key but my motor is worked pretty good and i'm still running the key i run 60% race and 40% pump and my bike is running cooler than a stock ex but you can't use the key with cdi boxes that also advances timing

I do not think it is that hard if you know a little bit about turning a wrench:) Well, its a little harder than that but you get the idea.

Same here. I run straight 110 octane and a DPR9Z plug to keep the temps down.

BTW, I run the Sparks advance key with a Sparks CDI box.
