i went to the race track by my house a couple of nights ago. my intentions were to run my quad in the quarter mile to see what time i could get. when i got there there was some tool sack that thought he had a hot car ( a civic) it was decked out with all the fast and furious decals, wing, muffler, the whole nine yards. so i decided to challenge him. he accepted.

we both pulled up to the line waiting for the green light. as soon as i seen green i dumped the clutch and was out. the white bros. pipe screamin threw every gear i beat him threw every gear and at the end my quad started to top out he finally caught up. he beat me to the quarter mile but the crowd knew who really one.

a good quad will probably beat most cars but down the way they will catch up, since aviously then go faster, race 100yds or 1/8 miles.

what gearing did you have? and what tire size?
You could probably get a real good quad to hit the hi-13's
in the 1/4

They let basically anything run at Cecil County MD. Dirtbikes, 4wheelers, they all do the 1/4. Best times for a quad I saw was 16.3 @ 75mph and that was a Banshee. Quads will beat cars off the line until they top out, then car will go by..unless its a tricked out car.
