How do the new ITP Sandstars compare to the SandSkate 2's as far as hooking up in the sand and sliding. I know that the sandstars are 1/8 inch taller and have 8 smaller inner paddles for hookup. Does that affect sliding?

Yes. The small grooves on the inside of the tire do affect turning. I am not going to debate which tire is better for the simple fact that I have never ridden with either one of them:blah:

However, I do know guys who ride with the Sandstars and love 'em.

I have sand stars, and i was really pleased with them. Granted i've only ridden on them once, and didn't have the proper gearing on my bike, but they worked awesome. I never had a problem hooking up, and they handled my built 416 motor awesome, i'd definately recommend them.

i got a set of sand skate 2s (which i want to trade for some straights) and so does a buddy of mine. we dont have any problems going sidehillin anywhere we see a dune. havent ridden the stand star 2s but i think they might be a liiiiiiiittle harder just because you have that extra little bit of paddle grabbing the dune and wanting to go up and over.

I just got a pair of sandstars I rode for 3 days at the dunes with them and I absolutely love them I've had haulers, sand sharks, sand skate ( the straight ones) and I love the sandstars I don't think I will buy anything else again. My husband has them on his 450r and they did really good on his quad too.

I just ordered a set of sand stars. I must say I am excited about trying them out. I look for them to hook up well. I am a little worried though about the way they are going to slide.ill get back to ya bout them.
