I hear all this hype about good power gains just from switching to a K&N filter. Do ther really make a difference besides better filtering?

don't get a K&N they let dirt and stuff by,just get a UNI or Twin air filter....do a search if you really want to find a in depth answer

K&N filters are just fine. expect 2-3 horsepower and ignore people who say they let dirt in. that's just fanboys being fanboys and it's taking it too far when brand loyalty clouds judgement on buying AIR FILTERS.

yea you can also expect 5-7 horsepower with the addition of a graphics kit too:rolleyes:

you will notice no difference in a different air filter (I can assume this on a dyno test too)...i am running a uni filter & it lets nothing in...I have only heard bad things from K&N so I wont be running them...they are expensive too

Stick to answering the question. I'm also way tired of hearing about 'filter wars'.

Expect maybe a .5 hp gain. Get the filter and remove the air box lid and you'll get just over 1 hp.

I am not really concerned about letting dirt in because i plan to have a billet airbox adapter and an outerwears on my filter. I also am contemplating an outerwears airbox cover or a K&N XStream airbox lid. any help in that field would be appreciated, also.

OK, so i have already don't the air box mod and put the aluminum adapter in. Is there a uni filter that can actually clamp onto the aluminum adapter instead of the K&N filter? if so which one?
Thanks.

if you look at the intake tube and carb, maybe even the intake manifold. You will see dust built up in there if you run a k&n. Why bother spending 50 bucks rather than 20? (uni) I ride with the local Honda shop and all of them told me to runa uni. they don't stock k&ns anyways.

lol ...

first off ... just because YOUR intake boot had dust in it ... dosn't mean everyones will

and second ... just because YOUR honda dealer said uni ... dont listen to them ...

but hey ... my k&n works great and so does a lot of ppls ...

do what u want
